Manatee recovers readable data from damaged files on your Mac without uploading or touching the original.
The story so far
Manatee is a Mac app that repairs damaged video, PDFs, archives, photos and documents by recovering everything still readable from them. It works entirely on your machine with no uploads, no account, and no telemetry.
The app offers four main functions: Repair rebuilds broken file structures to open corrupted files; Convert transforms between common formats offline; Reduce shrinks files to fit size limits you specify; Clean strips metadata and location data before sharing.
You can preview any repair for free before paying $9 for a lifetime licence. The original file is never touched or modified.

Questions and answers
Can I try Manatee before paying?
Yes. You can run any fix for free and Manatee shows what it recovered with a preview. Saving the fixed file costs $9 once.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes, within 7 days of purchase you can get a full refund for any reason by emailing support.
Does anything get uploaded?
No. Every repair, conversion, shrink and clean happens on your Mac. The only network call Manatee ever makes is to check your licence after you buy. The repair engine is built in; that is why the download is about 100 MB.
Why is the download so big?
Manatee bundles its own copy of ffmpeg so that video and audio repair works the moment you install, with nothing fetched later and no dependency on what else is on your Mac.
