FileShot uses AES-256-GCM encryption directly in your browser before any data leaves your device. The encryption key is derived from your password using Argon2id (64 MB memory-hard KDF), combined with a random salt. The server receives only ciphertext and cannot decrypt the file.
No, an account is not required to upload and share files. You can drag and drop a file, set optional password and expiry, and get a shareable link instantly. Creating an account is optional and allows you to manage files and access advanced features.
Free users can upload up to 10 GB per file with 50 GB total storage. Pro users can upload up to 100 GB per file. Creator users can upload up to 300 GB per file. Professional users can upload up to 500 GB per file. All paid plans include unlimited storage.
Free files are kept for up to 90 days. Pro plan files can be kept for up to 1 year. Creator and Professional plans support unlimited expiry. Files can always be manually deleted from your dashboard at any time.
