The story so far
SpendByTeam is a cost tracking platform for AI coding agents like Claude Code. It connects to developers' machines via a CLI installer that sends usage metrics to a centralized dashboard without intercepting code or prompts. The service supports per-developer spending visibility, team and project budgets with alerts, and client billing features for agencies. Organizations can roll out tracking organization-wide through managed settings on their coding agent's Team and Enterprise plans.
The platform offers free tier for up to 3 developers, Team plan ($7/developer/month) with budgets and alerts, and Agency plan ($10/developer/month) with client grouping and invoicing capabilities. A Business plan with custom pricing provides procurement features, cost reconciliation against the provider's API, and managed settings support. All plans include a 14-day free trial.

Yes, yearly billing is 20% off both Team and Agency plans.
What happens when the trial ends?
The dashboard becomes read-only until you pick a plan, but data ingestion continues. You don't lose any data while waiting for budget approval.
Does pricing depend on how much you spend on AI?
No. The service charges per developer, never a percentage of your AI bill, so they have no incentive for you to spend more.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Cards and PayPal via Paddle, the merchant of record, which handles VAT and sales tax and issues compliant invoices.
