A macOS app that speaks what coding agents like Claude Code and Codex are doing, and lets you answer by voice.

Heard is a voice layer for coding agents on macOS that turns progress, blockers, questions, test results, and decisions into spoken updates. The app works with Claude Code, Codex, and other coding agents, narrating their work so you can stay informed without constantly watching your screen.
Heard offers three tiers: Free (open source with local voices), Pro (managed voices and spoken recaps), and Power (adds voice input and an iPhone companion app). With Power, you can say "Hey Parrot" to ask questions, hold right Command to dictate, and listen and respond to agents from your iPhone.
The open source engine is available under Apache 2.0. All code, transcripts, and work stay on your Mac—nothing is stored on Heard's servers or used to train models.
Pricing model: Freemium
Free: $0/month (open source with local voices). Pro: $12/month or $144/year (managed voices and spoken recaps). Power: $24/month or $288/year (adds voice input and iPhone companion). Every download includes a free 14-day Power trial with no card required.

Claude Code and Codex CLI are narrated through first-class hooks. Cloud agents such as Grok Bot, Meta Muse, Devin and Manus report by voice through one MCP connector. Cursor, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI and other local agents show sessions in Heard. It works in any terminal including Ghostty, Herdr, cmux, iTerm2 and tmux.
The Heard engine is open source under Apache 2.0 and can be built with local Kokoro speech or your own provider keys. The downloadable macOS app is the official managed build.
Source code, full terminal output, and agent transcripts stay on your Mac unless an enabled feature sends a short text snippet for hosted narration or speech. Local Kokoro speech stays on the Mac.
No. Heard does not sell your data or use private work to train models. Heard does not retain narration text, generated audio, source code, terminal output, or agent transcripts on its servers.
