MySpec turns vague ideas into deterministic 4-file technical specifications for AI coding agents like Cursor, Claude Code, and Devin.
MySpec is an AI Senior Architect designed for Spec-Driven Development (SDD). It interviews developers about their ideas and generates four markdown specification files: constitution.md (non-negotiable principles), requirements.md (functional specifications in EARS+ format), solution.md (technical implementation details with Mermaid diagrams), and tasks.md (granular implementation tasks).
The platform aims to eliminate AI code hallucinations by replacing vague prompts with immutable architectural contracts. Developers describe their idea, answer a structured interview (5-15 questions), receive live-rendered spec files they can refine in chat, then export the complete bundle for use with AI coding agents via ZIP download or Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integration.
MySpec supports both Greenfield projects (starting from scratch) and Brownfield projects (updating existing codebases). It is currently in Open Beta with unlimited AI usage available free until general availability.

Spec-Driven Development is an AI-first methodology where structured specifications (constitution.md, requirements.md, solution.md, tasks.md) precede code generation to eliminate context drift and hallucinations. It replaces vague chat prompts with deterministic architectural contracts that AI coding agents follow consistently.
Greenfield projects start from a blank slate where MySpec generates the full four-file bundle from your idea. Brownfield projects start from an existing codebase where MySpec analyzes what's already built, then walks through a change-focused interview before generating a requirements delta scoped to just that change.
constitution.md contains non-negotiable principles and constraints that guide all subsequent phases. It acts as the project's supreme law, defining tech stack choices, architectural patterns, and coding standards that the AI must adhere to.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard letting AI apps like Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, and Cursor connect to external tools. MySpec offers a hosted remote server at mcp.myspec.dev and a local npm package, letting AI clients list projects, read and update spec files, add comments, and start sessions without copy-pasting.
MySpec supports three methodologies: MySpec (greenfield: interview → constitution → requirements → solution → tasks; brownfield: interview → proposal → requirements delta → optional tasks), Spec Kit (greenfield workflow), and OpenSpec (brownfield workflow). An Edit workflow refines any existing bundle with reviewable diffs.
