About Science & Research
Science & Research is where bootstrapped makers put the odd, specific things they build for labs, libraries and field notebooks. Some of it is software. Some of it is a small biotech business with a real bench behind it. Much of it started because the maker got fed up with a clumsy workflow and fixed it themselves.
This page lists every product and business filed here, along with everything in the four subcategories below. Use the filters to narrow things down, and sort by community votes if you want to see what other visitors rate. Votes can never be bought, so the order reflects attention, not budget. By default the newest launches sit at the top.
If you are comparing options, check who the product is actually for, what it does with your data, and whether the founder explains the method behind the claims. Small teams often answer questions directly, so ask them.

Science & Research: questions answered
- What kind of product belongs in Science & Research?
- Anything built to support scientific work or sold by a science-led business: lab and analysis software, biotech ventures, tools for students and scholars, and datasets people can reuse. If its main job is something else, pick the category that fits that job better.
- How do I choose between the subcategories?
- Pick the one that describes who uses the product first. Day-to-day experiment and analysis tools go in research tools, wet-lab and life-science ventures in biotech, writing and teaching aids in academic tools, and shared datasets in open data.
- How do I get my product listed here?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from your site, then you check and edit every field before anything goes live. You choose one main category at submission, and that is included free.
- Can a listing appear in more than one category?
- Yes. Every listing has one main category, included free. A paid upgrade adds up to 3 more categories for $5, which suits products that straddle, say, biotech and research tools.
- How are products ordered on this page?
- Newest first by default, so fresh launches get seen. Visitors can switch to sorting by community votes. Votes can never be bought, so a paid launch does not buy a higher place in that ranking.
