About Hosting, Cloud & Infrastructure
This is the boiler room of the zine: the servers, platforms and plumbing that keep a small product standing once people turn up. Makers list the hosts they rent, the clouds they build on, the tools that make pages load faster and the alarms that wake them at night.
Bootstrapped budgets change the questions. You want to know what happens when the bill grows, how hard it is to leave, and whether one person can run the thing without a rota. Every listing here is drafted from the maker's own website and then checked and edited by hand before it goes live, so the descriptions come from the people who built the product. Pick a subcategory to narrow things down, or browse everything newest first and sort by community votes if you want the crowd's opinion.

Hosting, Cloud & Infrastructure: questions answered
- What belongs in Hosting, Cloud & Infrastructure?
- Anything that keeps a site or app running, reachable and watched: shared and managed hosting, cloud platforms, content delivery and speed tools, and monitoring or uptime services. If it sits underneath a product rather than being the product's front-facing feature, it probably fits here.
- How do I choose between the subcategories?
- Start with what the product does for the customer. If it rents out space for sites, choose Web hosting. If it offers raw building blocks, choose Cloud platforms. Faster delivery goes under CDN & performance, and anything that watches and alerts belongs in Monitoring & uptime.
- How do I get my product listed in this category?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from your site, and you check and edit every field before anything goes live. A paid launch costs $5; a free listing joins a queue of about 6-8 weeks. You choose one main category, included free.
- How are listings ordered on this page?
- Newest first by default, so fresh launches get seen. Visitors can switch to sort by community votes instead. Votes can never be bought, so a high place on the vote view reflects what other visitors actually liked. Filters help you narrow the list further.
- What should I compare when choosing infrastructure for a small product?
- Look at how pricing behaves as usage grows, how easily you could move away later, what support is on offer when you are the only engineer, and how clear the status and incident history is. Read the maker's own description, then test with a small project.
