The story so far
Homepage of logPhase
logPhase is a macOS application designed to help developers understand code through visual representation and AI-assisted analysis. When you paste a pull request link, the app clones the repository and analyzes changes to generate user journeys as flow diagrams, showing what code changed and its blast radius across the system.
The app visualizes code as a city map where districts represent services, towers represent files, and trails represent user journeys. Developers can drill into any step to see the actual code and methods behind it, ask Claude questions about specific steps, and trace call graphs to understand what else the code touches.
logPhase supports Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, and C# through language-specific parsers. Most analysis runs locally on your Mac; only data sent to Claude goes over the network. It requires your own Claude Code subscription for reviews.

Does logPhase run locally or require sending data to the cloud?
Most analysis runs locally on your Mac. Java, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript work entirely offline. C# requires Microsoft's .NET SDK (about 250 MB). Only data sent to Claude goes to Anthropic's servers; GitHub tokens stay in your macOS keychain.
Do I need my own Claude Code subscription to use logPhase?
Yes, reviews need your own Claude Code subscription. logPhase uses Claude to generate the flow diagrams and answer questions about your code.
How long does it take logPhase to analyze a pull request?
Analysis speed varies by pull request size. In one example, a pull request that changed two files and touched three user journeys was reviewed in four minutes and 20 seconds.
