Concrete Price Calculator combines project dimensions, concrete volume calculations, packaged-bag equivalents, and installed-price benchmarks on one page. Enter a slab's length, width, and thickness in inches, select a U.S. metro area, and the tool calculates cubic yards needed, the number of 80 lb concrete bags, a national installed cost range, and cost per square foot. Results are planning estimates based on published data from HomeGuide, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and QUIKRETE, not contractor quotes. The calculator also includes a quote-checking feature to compare actual bids against the estimated range.

A standard concrete slab averages $6 to $12 per square foot installed nationally, according to HomeGuide data dated February 3, 2026. The calculator adjusts that verified national range into an estimated metro-level range.
A 20 by 20 foot slab at 4 inches thick needs an estimated 5.43 cubic yards when a 10% waste factor is included.
One cubic yard is approximately 45 80 lb bags because QUIKRETE lists an approximate yield of 0.60 cubic feet per 80 lb bag and one cubic yard contains 27 cubic feet.
The result is an installed slab benchmark, not an itemized quote. It begins with HomeGuide's published national range and a contractor's actual scope may price concrete, labor, site conditions, reinforcement, finish, delivery, overhead, and other line items differently.
The metro result combines two verified datasets through a disclosed model using a 45% labor share and 55% material share, so the resulting dollar range is a modeled estimate rather than a supplier or contractor quote.
