CardGrade uses computer vision AI to analyze trading card photos and predict grades across PSA, BGS, and CGC scales. The system examines 16 inspection zones covering corners, edges, centering, and surface condition on both card sides, returning predictions with confidence scores in about 60 seconds. Users can choose between a standard full-card photo analysis (Intelligence Grade) or eight macro close-up shots of corners (Forensic Capture) for sharper detail detection. The tool supports all major trading card categories including Pokémon, sports cards, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and vintage cards. CardGrade helps collectors decide whether to submit cards for professional grading and estimate submission economics before committing cards to months-long turnaround times.

Questions and answers

What is AI card grading?

AI card grading uses computer vision to analyze a photo of a trading card and predict the grade a professional grader would assign. CardGrade's CGI Vision AI examines 16 zones covering every corner and edge, front and back, plus centering and surface, then returns a PSA, BGS, or CGC grade prediction in about 60 seconds without mailing the card anywhere.

How accurate is CardGrade?

CardGrade uses AI-powered analysis developed using thousands of card images to predict PSA, BGS, and CGC grades. Every prediction includes a confidence score so users can see how closely the AI expects the card to match the professional grade. Estimates can differ from official professional grades.

Which grading companies does CardGrade support?

CardGrade predicts grades on the PSA (1–10), BGS/Beckett (1–10 with sub-grades), and CGC (1–10) scales. It also provides individual sub-scores for centering, corners, edges, and surface so users can see exactly where a card is likely to lose points before submitting.

What is the difference between Intelligence Grade and Forensic Capture?

Both are CGI Vision AI grades that cost one credit. Intelligence Grade, included on every paid plan, reads a single full-card photo and returns PSA, BGS, and CGC predictions across 16 inspection zones. Forensic Capture, available on Pro and Dealer plans, uses eight macro close-ups of corners for sharper detail on whitening, edge wear, and fraying where corners often decide the grade.

Does CardGrade work for all types of trading cards?

Yes. CardGrade supports all major trading card categories including Pokémon, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, and more. The AI was trained on thousands of card images from all these categories and handles both vintage and modern prints.
