Why your founder profile stops a listing going live
Every listing needs a complete founder profile before it can appear. Here's what to fill in and what happens if you skip it.
Updated
We need a proper founder profile for each listing you send in. Not just to be difficult—readers vote on real people making real things, so they need to know who's behind the product.
What goes in your profile
Head to /account/founder and add:
- A photo (with a one-line caption explaining what it is)
- Your full name
- Your title or role
- Your country
- A short bio: at least 80 characters
- At least one personal link—your own website or social profile, not a company page
City and a founder story link are optional if you want to add more.
Why your listing won't publish yet
You can draft, submit and pay for a listing without finishing your profile. But it stays on hold until the profile is complete. The good news: nothing disappears. The moment you fill in those blanks, the listing releases automatically. If you'd already paid for a specific week and that week's passed, we'll slot it in this week or the next free-queue week depending on what you chose. We'll let you know what happens.
Adding co-founders
Go to the Team section in /account/founder to invite anyone building this with you. They'll show on the product page once their own profile is done.
Questions people ask
- Can I publish without finishing my founder profile?
- No. Submit and pay as you like, but your listing waits until the profile is complete. It releases automatically when you finish it.
- What counts as a personal link?
- Your own website, blog or social profile. Company pages don't count—readers want to find you, not the business.
- Do co-founders need their own profiles too?
- Yes. Invite them from the Team section, and they'll appear on the listing once they've filled in their own founder profile.
