About Other
Every zine needs a back page for the pieces that won't fold into a neat column. This is ours. Products and businesses end up here when any other main category would be a stretch: a tool that straddles two fields, a service nobody has named yet, a side project that is simply its own strange thing.
Browse it like a pile of cut-outs on the desk. Use the filters to narrow the heap, and expect a few surprises between the familiar bits. If you've built something and the other shelves feel wrong, choose this one as your main category. Each listing gets exactly one, and it costs nothing. Come here to find the unclassifiable, or to put your own unclassifiable thing on the wall.
Other: questions answered
- What kind of product ends up in Other?
- Anything whose main purpose doesn't match another shelf on the site. Read through the full category list first. If two fit loosely, pick the closer one. If none fits honestly, this is the right place, and nobody will mind the oddness.
- Can I list in Other and a proper category too?
- Your free main category is a single choice. The extra-categories upgrade, $5, gives you up to 3 more slots. Use those for shelves that describe your work better than Other does, and keep this one only if it really fits.
- How do I submit something here?
- Open /submit, drop in your site's URL and an AI writes a first draft of your profile. Read every field, fix whatever is off, then choose Other as the main category. Nothing goes live until you have approved it yourself.
- In what order are the listings shown?
- Newest arrivals sit at the top by default. Change the sort to community votes when you want the crowd's favourites instead. Votes can't be bought, so the ranking reflects what visitors actually backed rather than what someone paid for.
- How should I compare options in a mixed shelf like this?
- Judge each one by the job it does. Ask what problem it solves, who it is for, and whether the maker explains it plainly. Then open the website and see if there is a working product behind the pitch. Filters help trim the pile.
