Where Should I Sell? is a free online calculator that helps resellers and online sellers compare fees across major marketplaces. Users enter an item price once and immediately see what they would keep after all platform fees, shipping costs, and sales tax on each of eight marketplaces: eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Whatnot, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace and TikTok Shop.
The tool accounts for how different platforms calculate fees differently—some charge fees on shipping and sales tax, while others don't. It includes state sales tax rates for all 50 US states to give an accurate total. The calculator is designed to show sellers which platform would let them keep the most money for their specific item.
The site also offers additional calculators for individual platforms, comparisons between platforms (like Poshmark vs Mercari), and related tools for taxes, bookkeeping, and rental property. All fees are checked against each platform's official help pages and were last verified in October 2026. There is no sign-up required and it works on phones.

By fees alone, local cash sales and Facebook Marketplace pickup are free, and Depop's US fees (3.3% + $0.45 processing) are the lowest of the big shipping marketplaces. But the best place is where your item sells fastest at the best price, as a lower fee doesn't help if the item sits unsold.
For items over $15, Poshmark's 20% fee is usually the highest, although Poshmark buyers pay their own shipping. eBay's 13.6% fee applies to shipping and tax too, which adds up significantly on heavier items.
eBay and Facebook charge their percentage on the whole transaction including the sales tax they collect, and Depop, Whatnot and Etsy charge payment processing on the order total including tax.
