The story so far

Screenshot of the Webhooker homepage
Homepage of Webhooker

Webhooker is an EU-hosted inbound webhook gateway that sits between services sending webhooks and those consuming them. You provide providers like Stripe, GitHub, and Shopify with a single ingest URL. Webhooker verifies each webhook's signature, writes the event to durable storage on Hetzner servers in Germany before acknowledging receipt, and then delivers it to your destinations with retries, a dead letter queue, and replay capabilities.

The service handles three stages of webhook processing: receiving and verifying signatures with HMAC-SHA256 and SHA1 schemes, persisting events to durable storage in under 10 milliseconds, and delivering events with six attempts over approximately five hours using exponential backoff and a per-destination circuit breaker.

All plans include signature verification, retries with circuit breaker, payload transformations, outbound request signing, live event tail with replay, dead-letter queue functionality, and delivery alerts. Events are stored for 14, 30, or 90 days depending on the plan, then automatically deleted. The service is GDPR-compliant with EU-only data residency and no data transferred outside the European Union.

Questions and answers

What is Webhooker?

Webhooker is an EU-hosted inbound webhook gateway that receives webhooks from providers like Stripe, GitHub, and Shopify on a unique ingest URL. It verifies each webhook's signature, stores the event durably on servers in Germany, and delivers it to your services with retries, a dead letter queue, replay, and a full delivery log. The free plan covers 10,000 events a month.

What happens when my service is down?

Webhooker keeps the event and retries delivery. Each destination gets six delivery attempts over about five hours with exponential backoff. A per-destination circuit breaker pauses delivery to a downed service, and any events that still fail land in a dead letter queue. From there you can resend a single event or a whole batch once your service is back.

Where is my webhook data stored?

Webhook data is stored in Germany inside the European Union. Webhooker's ingest, event storage, and delivery workers run on Hetzner servers in Germany, backups stay in EU data centers, and webhook payloads are not transferred outside the EU. Events are deleted automatically according to your plan's retention window: 14, 30, or 90 days.

Can I replay old webhooks?

Yes. Webhooker keeps every event for your plan's retention window along with the full delivery history of each attempt. Any event can be resent to any destination with one click, and dead-lettered events can be replayed in bulk.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan runs on 10,000 events a month with no card required. You only add a payment method when you choose to upgrade to Pro or Team.
