StagingBench stages the same 10 empty rooms in every AI virtual staging tool, runs automatic checks for architecture changes, and publishes results monthly.

StagingBench is an independent benchmark for AI virtual staging tools used in real estate marketing. It stages the same 10 public-domain empty rooms in every tool with identical settings, measures framing accuracy and architecture drift using automatic checks, and publishes monthly re-tested results. Results include editor realism ratings and are never paid for or affected by sponsorship. Vendors receive a right of reply and can submit corrections or 150-word statements on their tool pages.

Agents usually take the first decent result. Counting only the first output measures what a busy agent actually gets and prevents anyone from picking the best result of multiple tries.
AI stagers sometimes move windows, delete doors or bend walls, which can mislead buyers. StagingBench aligns staged images to the original, reports crops and zooms separately as framing fails, then compares edge maps of walls, windows and doors to score architecture changes.
For the 12 self-serve tools that publish a photo count, the cheapest paid plan works out to $0.21 to $4.50 per staged photo. Apply Design costs $15 per photo on its cheapest option. Services where a person designs each image cost $23 to $49 per photo at entry price.
Most tools offer a few free images or credits, usually watermarked. Apply Design and virtualstaging.ai provided free outputs without watermarks in testing.
