A free web application that uses cryptographic randomization to pick winners from custom name lists, with adjustable spin duration, sound effects, and preset
Spinny.name is a free online random name picker wheel designed for teachers, event organizers, and teams. It runs entirely in your browser using cryptographically secure random algorithms to ensure fair outcomes. The application lets you enter custom lists of names, customize spin duration from 3 to 60 seconds, control sound volume, and save multiple presets for different classes or events. You can share wheel links with others, and all data is stored locally in your browser without uploading to any server.

Type or paste your entries into the Enter Names text box on the right side of the screen, placing one name per line. The wheel updates automatically in real time. Click the Shuffle Names button at the top of the panel to randomize the order of slices at any time.
Click the Settings button in the toolbar directly below the wheel to open the Wheel Configuration modal. Use the Spin Duration slider to choose any spin time between 3 seconds and 60 seconds maximum. Your chosen duration is displayed next to the wheel and saved automatically.
No. All name lists are processed 100% locally inside your web browser. We never transmit or store your lists on external servers, making Spinny.name privacy-safe for classrooms and organizations.
Open the 'Settings' modal below the wheel to set the Sound Volume to 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. You can also quickly mute or unmute the audio at any time using the Sound button located right below the wheel.
Click the 'Share Link' button at the bottom of the Enter Names panel. Spinny.name encodes your current list of names into a unique shareable URL and copies it to your clipboard so anyone can open your exact wheel.
