The story so far

Homepage of Should I Grade It?

Should I Grade It? is a free Pokémon card grading assistant that helps collectors decide whether to submit cards for professional grading. Users photograph a card with their phone; the app uses CardSight AI to identify it, measures centering, corners, edges and surface condition from the photos, and estimates the PSA grade it would receive. It then shows the card's raw TCGplayer market price and its graded value from recent eBay sales, calculates whether grading costs are justified against the potential gain, and gives a verdict on whether to grade or keep the card raw.

The service includes a free plan with 7 scans per month, a Pro subscription for unlimited scans, a collection tracker that values cards daily, and a price guide covering every Pokémon card ever printed. All raw prices come from TCGplayer's daily market data, graded prices are medians of recent eBay completed sales, and the service is independent and unaffiliated with PSA, grading companies, or card retailers.

Questions and answers

How much does PSA grading cost in 2026?

PSA's cheapest tier is Value at $39.99 per card from October 29, 2026, for cards worth up to $500. Standard is $59.99 for cards up to $1,000 and Priority $79.99 up to $1,500. With shipping and insurance, one card costs roughly $60 to $75 through Value and $80 to $95 through Standard. PSA paused cheaper tiers on June 2 to work through a backlog, added Standard in September, and announced Value's return on October 28 with faster turnaround estimates.

What centering does a PSA 10 need?

A PSA 10 requires about 55/45 or better centering on the front (both left to right and top to bottom) and 75/25 or better on the back. A PSA 9 allows about 60/40 on the front. Corners, edges and surface also need to be flawless for a 10.

Is this an official grade?

No, it is an estimate from photos to help collectors decide which cards are worth submitting. Only official graders like PSA, CGC and Beckett can give an official grade.

What is the cheapest way to get a card graded right now?

PSA's Value tier at $39.99 per card from October 29, 2026, for cards worth up to $500, with an estimated 90 to 100 business days turnaround. New Value orders queue behind everything already at PSA, so Standard at $59.99 with 70 to 80 business days can come back sooner. CGC and Beckett can also cost less per card.

Is my Pokémon card worth grading?

It's worth grading when the card's value at the grade it will likely get, minus its raw value, clearly beats the cost of grading, and still doesn't lose money one grade lower. With PSA's Value tier back, that means clearing roughly $65 per card for cards worth up to $500 graded, or $85 through Standard for cards up to $1,000, before any selling fees.
