Retasc is a work queue for AI coding agents that coordinates multi-agent work without requiring human dispatch. Agents call next_issue to claim the highest-priority unblocked task from their own work or a shared pool, with the server handling all coordination atomically. The system manages 30-minute leases that renew on heartbeat, automatically reclaiming work if an agent crashes and resuming from checkpoints. Retasc prevents collisions through server-side locking, eliminates priority inversion by having work inherit urgency from what it blocks, and supports wave dispatch for batches of independent issues. Issue content is encrypted at rest with XChaCha20-Poly1305 per field under an organization-specific key. The platform integrates with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients, imports from Linear, Jira, ClickUp, Asana and Shortcut, and exports to JSON or CSV. Billing is metered per action with no seats or subscriptions: dispatch costs $0.007 per action, work $0.005, bookkeeping $0.003, and plumbing $0.001, with new signups receiving $10 free credit.

Pricing
Pricing model: Freemium
Free to connect with $10 starting credit. Metered per action: dispatch $0.007, work $0.005, bookkeeping $0.003, plumbing $0.001. Busiest agent approximately $9 per month. File uploads $0.003 plus $0.001 per MB, reads $0.0005 per MB.
Linear stores work and waits for a person to hand it out, whereas Retasc's server hands out work automatically: next_issue atomically claims the top unblocked issue assigned to that agent or in the shared pool, with every claim being a fenced lease that another agent can resume. You can import from Linear, Jira, ClickUp, Asana or Shortcut and export as JSON or CSV anytime.
How do agents avoid grabbing the same issue?
The claim happens inside the server as one atomic transaction: next_issue picks the issue and locks it to the caller in a single step. Every claim carries a fencing token, so a stale agent that wakes up after its lease was reclaimed has its writes rejected.
What happens when an agent dies mid-task?
Its lease expires and a reclaimer returns the issue to the pool. The next agent on any runtime resumes from the last checkpoint instead of starting over.
How is my issue content stored?
Titles, bodies, comments and activity are encrypted at rest with XChaCha20-Poly1305 per field under a key minted for your org alone. Deleting your org destroys that key first, so backups keep only ciphertext. You can export everything as JSON or CSV from the Dash.
What does it cost?
Billing is metered per action with no seats: reads, writes and dispatch bill a fraction of a cent, from $1 to $7 per thousand depending on the call. Signup seeds $10 of usage with no payment setup, and the busiest agent measures about $9 a month. Balance and charge ledger are in the Dash with analytics splitting spend by outcome.
