The story so far
Homepage of OpenLIT
OpenLIT is an open-source agent harness engineering platform for observing and improving AI agents in production. It provides OpenTelemetry-native LLM tracing for every call, tool, and retrieval, plus agent evals with LLM-as-a-judge capabilities, guardrails for prompt injection and jailbreak detection, and Prompt Hub for version management and deployment without redeploying app code.
The platform includes Vault for encrypted API key management, OpenGround for side-by-side LLM model comparison, and monitoring for coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor. It tracks cost, latency, and quality metrics with GPU utilization and memory insights. OpenLIT works with 56+ integrations across LLM providers, agent frameworks, and vector databases.
The platform is fully self-hosted on your own infrastructure with ClickHouse-backed storage. It is Apache 2.0 licensed with unlimited usage, and you can export traces to Grafana, Datadog, or any OTLP backend. Enterprise Edition adds role-based access control, audit logs, and alerting. OpenLIT Cloud, a fully hosted option, is coming soon.
