A private, browser-based OCR tool that converts images to editable text without uploading files, supporting English and Chinese with up to 10 images at once.

BrowserOCR is a static web application that turns images and PDFs into editable text entirely in your browser, with no server uploads. It processes up to 10 JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, HEIC, or HEIF images at once, each up to 50 MB, with a total queue limit of 100 MB.
The tool reads English, simplified and traditional Chinese, and mixed-language lines using the PP-OCRv6 model. Users can choose between Fast mode for quick processing or High accuracy mode with a larger model for more careful letter recognition. Results are available as editable plain text or table Markdown.
All processing happens locally on your device: image opening, text detection, editing, and ZIP file creation occur in the browser with no files sent to servers. The tool works offline after the first use and supports PDF to text conversion for both native and scanned PDFs.
